Paul Johnson

Head Tennis Coach
LTA Level 4 Senior Club Coach

Paul is passionate about passing on his knowledge and enthusiasm of tennis to others. He enjoys teaching all ages and abilities, and emphasizes enjoyment, while improving players tactical and technical understanding of the sport. When not at Sandal Paul coaches County Squads for Yorkshire and he coaches at Leeds Beckett University where he did his Undergraduate and Masters degrees.

Paul currently competes in LTA British Tour and ITF Futures events and is passionate about improving his own game. His current LTA rating is 1.1 and is ranked top 70 in Great Britain. He was a hitting partner at Wimbledon 2018, regularly working with Kyrgios, Monfils, Simon, Diatchenko, and Vekic.

 

Nigel Glover

Tennis Coach
LTA Level 3

Nigel has 11 years experience teaching children and adults in group and private lessons. He has also worked in local primary and secondary schools in the area and runs Cardio Tennis sessions. He has played Yorkshire League Division 1 for many years, competed in tournaments, and in other local matches for Sandal.

He is very ambitious and passionate about tennis, and loves to work together with a wide range of pupils to help them to develop and love tennis as a game for life.

 

Euan Barrett

Tennis Coach
LTA Level 2

Euan has been a member at Sandal Tennis Club for 4 years and is a successful member of the Mens 1st Team. He can often be seen at the club during Social Tennis Sessions and Thursday Match Practice.

As well as his work at Sandal Euan has experience teaching abroad at a hotel in Italy where he gained valuable experience teaching a wide variety of pupils.

Euan is well known at the club for his energy and encouragement of all players. He is currently on his LTA Level 3 coaching course, and working hard to develop his skills as a coach.

 

All coaches at Sandal Tennis Club at LTA Qualified and Accredited. This means that they adhere to the Lawn Tennis Association’s criteria and have valid Enhanced DBS checks, First Aid certificates, and have all attended a Safeguarding & Protection in Tennis course.
